"Outkast Has The Right To Children", a Boards Of Canada x Outkast Mashup

I'm kind of shocked at how well these two artists work together, considering how wildly different their genres and audiences are. This is my first taste of Officiated Riot, and goddamn is this impressive! The Boards of Canada instrumentals give Outkast's rapping a surreal aura, especially on Six Jacksten and Da Rue of Whirlytellin' pt. 1. It almost makes you uncomfortable, but it's a unique feeling I really enjoy. It's free to download if you want to carry it around on an MP3 player or your phone's hard-drive.

Funny Critterx

A friend of mine has been producing some ambient/experimental tracks and dumping them over on BandCamp under the name of Funny Critterx. Their music journey started mostly from messing around with FL Studio, and I've joined them on that adventure with my growing collection of mixdowns from BandLab.

Released in February, this is the first collection of music they'd ever officially released under an actual artist name. My taste in music is so broad and I'm quite a big fan of ambient (including the type where they stay on a single chord for three minutes straight), and I really like this EP! It's production is messy, just due to lack of experience in producing music, but I feel like that adds to it's charm.

This one was released earlier this month and is much more focused in its sound. It's also more consistent in its concept, while the first EP was moreso a sample platter of what the artist was interested in. I want to see if I can burn this onto a CD so I can play it on my disc player.
